Read an update below on how Jack Emens is doing after his kidney transplant!
Dear Friends, I just want to say how grateful I am for all the prayers and support I have received since my Kidney transplant last week. You all are such a blessing in my life! Thank you!
I came home from OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio on Monday of this week. It had been a busy six days in the hospital, with an amazing staff of medical personnel doing everything they could to wake up my “sleepy” kidney that was still not producing virtually any “output.” I was concerned, but knew I had to have faith in the doctors, but even more faith in God. Even this Tuesday there were no need for trips to the restroom. So, I did only what I knew to do, which was to pray and trust in my Lord.
Things changed Wednesday of this week. Little by little I began to see results of increased kidney function. By Thursday of this week I was elated with good output. Even more so today! I did labs yesterday which showed the kidney was starting to ramp up. Although clearly not at full function, my lab numbers showed good promise. Glory to the One and Only!
I am not out of the woods yet. I am still taking dialysis and probably will continue to do so until the kidney (whom I’ve named “Miranda”—it was a female donor) comes to full function. I just feel so blessed, and I am eternally thankful for all your prayers. Please continue to support me in prayer that Miranda (that’s not the real name of the donor) comes to full function and frees me from dialysis. Peace!
