23rd- Annual Open House

The Alumni Association held its 23rd annual open house on May 27 at the Lodge.  We had a good turnout with a number of brothers back from the Class of 1997, 2002 and 2007.   In addition, several undergraduate Delts were on hand to meet with alumni.  All had a great time getting reacquainted with old friends.

Trail To Be Removed, Property Restore To Original State

During the course of the winter, Kenyon College constructed a walking path through the ravine behind the Delt Lodge.  The public trail extends from Kokosing Drive south through the ravine to the western end of Brooklyn Street near Route 229. Unbeknownst to the Chi Chapter Alumni Association, the path was located on and through over 40 yards of its property.  Upon notification, the College has agreed to move the trail off CCAA property and return the property to its original state. The College has also closed the trail to the public until such time that it can be rerouted.

From The Archives

Recently, we uncovered a clip from The Collegian, the student newspaper at Kenyon. The clip from January 15, 1925, reads:

Chi Chapter celebrates a big fall semester

“The fall of 2016 was certainly an exciting time at Chi Chapter. Within the first week of being back on campus, Brotherhood Chair Thomas Reardon ’17 and Alex O’Connor ’17 organized an afternoon of tubing on the Kokosing River. Equipped with a cooler full of beverages, people enjoyed the opportunity to bask in the sun. Once the sun started to set, the group started to head back to campus, but not before saying a few words in memory of the shoe and pair of glasses that were sacrificed to the Kokosing.
